Summary: To Be Determined...

Races: The world of Fractured is inhabited by three distinct intelligent races: Mankind, Panthrin, and Keinsol.

Mankind refers to the broader variety of classical humanoid races often found in fantasy, such as dwarves and elves, along with humans themselves. Each of Mankind's forms have the cultures typically associated with them, save for the fact that all are still considered 'humans'.

Panthrin are a race of feline-based bipeds, with varying forms corresponding to many real-world species of cats, both large and small. Panthrin were once historically mistaken as a submissive or primative race due to their broader natural-harmony-focused culture, with its appearance on the surface as tribal society, and to present day are regarded for their elegant natural forms. They are often seen as more aloof when alone, although when comfortable they show a rather intense curiosity and will display rather strong social and familial bonds.

Keinsol are a race of canine-based bipeds, although they consist of both lupine and vulpine forms, in correspondance to several real-world species of wolves, dogs, and foxes. Keinsol are the most physically-adept of the races, historically seen as a warrior society, and have a somewhat strict merit-based martial-hierarchy system even in the present. Their societal norms somewhat demand the respect of outsiders, and to disrespect one of a group will put you in lower graces with the group as a whole, although in neutral or good circumstances, they have a somewhat friendly and outwardly-social demeanor.

All the races have various Forms that further define them, often with unique variations of the broader culture of their race.

About The Author (Me)

Name: Chris J. 'Bells'
Born: June 13, 2003
Age: 22

I always liked drawing growing up, but it wasn't until roughly around 2014 when I first started getting really into anime and Metroid that I really started trying to draw for real (hey, it's not my fault the 'see you next mission' CGs from those games are so good.) and then some time in 2015, I discovered the wonderful world of webcomics!... About five years after the golden age ended. But the comic that I really got hooked on was one that I'm sure you all have likely heard of, authored by the brother of a certain warfstached goofball of a youtuber, but you can go check the links page to check that one out.

Ever since then, my mind would always come back to the idea of making a webcomic, but my first attempt at writing Selfless with someone else back in 2018 didn't make it very far, and while I still wanted to write a webcomic, I had no direction or message yet, and it wasn't until 2020, the year of lockdown and my junior year of highschool, after being begrudgingly signed up for an online "how to write a good character" creative writing course and finally learning what makes a good compelling character, where when I finally wrote the current version of my comic's primary protagonist, Aries into existence, taht I finally had the start of my story's message forming in my head. I went back afterwards and asked to be signed up for the instructor's follow-up curse on story progression, and for the five years following that, I even began taking private 1-on-1 sessions with the instructor to continue working on my story and learning better how to write and make the story work, and with it, I've been building my confidence, draft after draft, as the story became better, and the plot holes more scarce, until now, when I'm quite sure that I've managed to get myself on the right track, and finally started drawing my first pages in a style reminiscent of the golden age of webcomics.

I may not be able to properly point to one thing or event in my life that really inspired the message behind this story, but that's okay, because this is a story of many themes and messages, and I only hope that it doesn't come across as overt or preach-ey, but above all, I just want to give people something to enjoy and get excited about.

Well, that was a long and winded rambling, but thanks for reading it!

Please excuse the lack of stuff and details, the site is still under construction.

[UPDATE] Sorry for the holdup

Yeesh, it's already been half a year since page one and I still haven't gotten to the second one yet. On top of that, I've jumped ship from using "Selfless" as the title of this comic and gone back to "Fractured" once more; This logo design just looks so much better without being over the top. And lastly, worst case scenario I plan to have all prologue pages done and posted in some form by end of January, although hopefully I can get them all done by the end of December. This rush does mean that some pages will likely be either uncolored or still partially sketched, but at this point I just want to get my story rolling, and honestly, that "slightly unfinished" look might be perfect for the aesthetic I'm going for. Not that I won't try to make things look good.

[UPDATE] Finally getting some work done!

Good news! As of tonight, I have the next three pages more or less blocked out and ready to start real work on, so get ready to actually see some new pages! (At a higher resolution, too!)

[UPDATE] Working on a voting incentive

I'm currently trying to work on a voting incentive sketch to put up on TWC, I'm also trying to use it as practice, because I'm having issues trying to get page 2 where I want it, so I may end up posting page 2 later than expected.

[PAGE DEV] Page routes (mostly) working

Well would you look at that, now all the useable links actually lead to empty pages on the site instead of a "Cannot GET" error! That's a relief... It's 2:17 am, I think I should head to bed now.
